Play an M3U playlist on your iPhone
An M3U file is a text list: a name and an address, line after line. A player that only plays it shows exactly that — a list. It gets interesting when those lines turn into channels with a guide, movies with posters and shows with seasons.
Take the link, not the file
Most providers give you a link ending in .m3u or .m3u8, or containing get.php. Use that link rather than a downloaded file: through the link the list updates itself when your provider changes channels.
Enter it once
In WebIPTV choose “M3U playlist”, paste the address, connect. The app reads the list, recognises channels, movies and shows, and files them separately.
Add a program guide
Many lists carry no guide. If your provider has an XMLTV address, enter it under Provider → Guide source; from then on every channel has an on-now view and a grid.
Tidy up
Ten thousand rows are unusable. Pick the categories that interest you and build a watchlist of the channels you actually watch — the home screen works from your selection afterwards.
Why some names look odd
M3U lists carry their details in free-form fields. Some providers write a placeholder into the name field instead of the channel name. The app corrects such cases where it can — never perfectly, because the source itself is imprecise.
What happens to duplicates
The same film often sits in the list several times, in different languages or resolutions. Instead of five tiles WebIPTV shows one card; you pick the version when you play it.

Can I load an M3U file from my iPhone instead of a link?
A link is better because it updates. If you only have a file, put it in a cloud service and enter its direct link.
How many channels can the app handle?
Tested with lists well beyond ten thousand entries. To keep it readable you pick categories during setup — the rest stays loaded but out of the way.
Does the list work on Apple TV too?
Yes. Enter it once; through your own private iCloud it is available on every device on your Apple Account.
